Ministry Status:

Updates & Changes

UPDATE: January 1, 2022 - All Campuses

After an all-church online service on Sunday Dec. 26, we're resuming regular weekly in-person worship services at all locations on Sunday January 2. We are continuing to ask all attendees at all locations to wear a mask while indoors, regardless of vaccination status; this is currently required by local town ordinance at our Lexington, East Lexington, and Watertown campuses. All staff and volunteers at all locations will continue to "mask up" in an effort to do all we can protect the health and safety of everyone attending Grace Chapel in person.

UPDATE: October 27, 2021 - Lexington & East Lexington Campuses

On October 27, the Board of Health voted to extend the local indoor mask mandate through January 15, 2022. Face coverings are required for everyone ages 2+ in indoor public spaces in Lexington, except when unable due to medical condition or disability, including at houses of worship and indoor performance venues. The Board will review the order on, or before, January 15.

Read the amended public health order.

UPDATE: August 25, 2021 - Watertown Campus

Effective Wednesday, August 25, 2021, the town of Watertown has adopted an order mandating face coverings for all people ages 5 and up in indoor spaces throughout the town, including in houses of worship.

Grace Chapel will continue to comply with our local communities' Town Orders. For the full text of the Watertown Town Order, you can find it here on the Watertown website.

UPDATE: August 18, 2021 - Lexington & East Lexington Campuses

At a joint meeting of the Lexington Board of Health and Select Board, held August 12, 2021, the Town of Lexington adopted an Indoor Mask Order, effective beginning at 12:01am, Wednesday August 18. An overview of the order is available below:

The highly transmissible Delta variant is driving an increase in COVID-19 cases both locally and nationally. As a result, at a joint meeting of the two boards on August 12, the Board of Health adopted a public health mandate, supported by the Select Board, regulating face coverings in indoor public spaces in Lexington.

Effective Wednesday, August 18 at 12:01 AM, face coverings will be required for all individuals aged two years and above in all indoor public spaces, houses of worship, or private spaces open to the public, except where an individual is unable to wear a face covering due to a medical condition or disability.

This mandate does not apply to outdoor spaces.

Grace Chapel's Lexington & East Lexington campuses will comply with this town order. For the full text of the order, you can find it on the Lexington town website.

UPDATE: August 5, 2021

As an expression of care for our entire congregation, we are strongly recommending that people wear masks indoors at all our Grace Chapel locations, regardless of vaccination status.  The elders and staff, in consultation with our GC medical advisors, are taking this precaution based on the current community transmission rates of the Delta variant in the counties that make up our congregation.   Grace Chapel staff will be wearing masks indoors, and we will continue to require masks for all children, parents, and volunteers in our Kidstown spaces.

We are grateful to be gaining momentum as we gather in-person on our campuses this summer and are looking forward to a full Re-Launch of our ministries on September 12.  We’re also grateful to be connecting with hundreds of households through our digital Sunday experiences, available on our website and YouTube channels.

These temporary steps are being taken so that we can continue to gather in-person safely and meaningfully.  The staff and elders will continue to monitor COVID conditions and guidelines and will adjust our protocols when appropriate.

Thanks for understanding, and feel free to reach out to your Campus Pastor if you have further questions or needs.
