Spring Serve 2017

taking the church to the neighborhood (Rain or Shine!)

May 6, 2017

There are times when nothing says, “I love you” quite like a little elbow grease. On Saturday, May 6, Grace Chapel wants to show a little love to our surrounding communities, and some worthy local organizations, through our all-church Spring Serve service day.

Service opportunities range from assisting our local towns with community projects, to creation care and home repairs, to serving alongside organizations like the Council on Aging, Food Pantry, and the Salvation Army.

All ages are encouraged to participate - there’s a way for everyone to get involved. Invite your neighbors and friends! Spring Serve begins with a light breakfast at 8:00am, and most projects conclude by 12:00 noon.

Each Grace Chapel location is currently organizing places where we can serve in creation care projects, as well as serving those who are under resourced.  Here is how the day will be organized:

  • 7:30am: check in
  • 8:00am: breakfast with your Service Team at your Campus (East Lexington will meet at the Lexington Campus)
  • 8:30am: travel to Service Project
  • 12:00pm: conclude project (please note: some projects will designated to continue past 12:00pm)
  • We serve rain or shine, so bring some wet-weather-ready apparel if you're serving outdoors!
