Are you interested in serving students in grades 6-12 and their families here at Grace Chapel?
In order to have the most influence in the lives of our students, we need an array of volunteers. There are so many ways to serve in Student Ministry! Some of these roles include building relationships with students and their parents that help students grow in their sense of belonging and take steps in their faith. Other roles are more supportive, helping set the stage for parent engagement, leader support and the function of our program.
Below are the different roles that we are looking to be filled by adults of any age and gifting. Interested, have questions, or want to start a conversation about what it would look like to serve in Student Ministry? Fill out the 1 minute "Serve in NextGen" form below to get in touch with us!
Small Group Leader
A Small Group Leader co leads a weekly small group which consists of building relationships with students through facilitating focused discussions and fun activities. This volunteer attends mandatory bi-monthly leader trainings and other Student Ministry events and retreats when available.
Large Group Leader
A Large Group Leader helps to plan and execute our once a month large group events. This could consist of welcoming students, sharing announcements, running large group games, and helping where needed. A volunteer in this role needs to feel comfortable in front of a crowd and be willing to have fun!
A Welcome Team volunteer is present before and during the beginning of Student Ministry programing. They will greet and provide direction as students arrive. They also will help get new students connected to the ministry by filling out an online connection card, answering any questions, and introducing them to staff and/or other students. In some scenarios this volunteer might serve with a student led welcome team.
Event Support Team
An Event Support volunteer helps to run our events smoothly through event set up, tear down, administrative support and registration. This helps to free up the Student Ministry staff and connecting volunteers so they can fully participate and interact with students during the event.
A Worship Team volunteer is a musically gifted individual who has a passion to lead students in worship and serve alongside young musicians. Different levels of commitment available.
Social Media Team
A Social Media volunteer is someone who sees social media as an instrument to share the gospel, connect with our community, and invite people into the community of believers. They are someone who uses Instagram regularly for their personal use and understands how to use it and it’s features. Or who is enjoys graphic design or creating fun and engaging content and isn’t afraid to be in front of a camera.
Media Production Team
A Media Production volunteer would help to produce videos and images for our weekly small group content as well as for special projects and promotion of events. This could include being on site to help take pictures and record video as well as independent editing of content.
A Tech volunteer helps to support the many different student ministry tech aspects of weekly gatherings, in some scenarios will serve alongside a few students who have an interest in tech. This may include set up and over seeing tech logistics during programing.
A Substitute Leader is someone who has a passion for students but is not available on a weekly basis. This volunteer would be on standby to sub when the regular leader cannot make their typical commitment. This commitment can be a one off or on short term basis.
