We are all busy. Some of us can't remember the last time we rested or even had free time. Our busyness can feel productive but it is a toxic distraction, sapping our spiritual, physical, and emotional vitality. It may seem like we have no choice but to live at a frantic pace, but God has a better path for us. Join pastor and author John Mark Comer in this five-part series as he addresses one of the greatest threats to our spiritual lives: hurry. Instead of allowing our calendars and screens to control our lives, Jesus offers us a new rhythm of life, overflowing with grace, peace, and beauty.
Session 1: The Case for an Unhurried Life
Session 2: Silence and Solitude
Session 3: Sabbath
Session 4: Simplicity
Session 5: Slowing
John Mark Comer is a teacher and writer in Topanga Canyon, California.
For nearly two decades, he was the founding pastor at Bridgetown Church in Portland, Oregon. The church spent many years working out discipleship to Jesus in the post-Christian West and organized their community around a simple idea: practicing the Way of Jesus together.
After leading a five-year initiative around spiritual formation they called “Practicing the Way,” John Mark stepped away from his role in 2021 to create simple, beautiful formation resources for church communities around the world.
Today, he’s developing new Practices, Courses, and podcasts for Practicing the Way and serving as a teacher in residence at Vintage Church LA with his wife T and their three kids.
