Our Senior Pastor Search continues as we collaborate with Vanderbloemen, the search firm parterning with us in this process, and anticipate beginning interviews in the coming weeks.
April 24, 2026

The Senior Pastor Search Committee remains deeply thankful for the many ways you continue to support this process through prayer and encouragement. We’re pleased to share a brief update on where things stand.

Following Easter, the committee met in person with Eric Albert from Vanderbloemen, the search firm with whom Grace Chapel is partnering, to review the recommended first round of candidates. For each individual, Eric provided a video introduction, résumé, a sampling of sermons, and a summary of responses to foundational questions.

Since then, each of us has been carefully reviewing candidate materials, including backgrounds and sermons, to assess alignment with Grace Chapel. As a team, we have identified those who appear to be a strong fit to move forward in the interview process.

In preparation, we have been developing a structured interview process and thoughtful questions aligned with the Senior Pastor criteria we established. We anticipate beginning interviews in the coming weeks.

Our team recognizes the importance of placing this process under the Lord’s authority and protection. Before each meeting, we have taken a consecrated approach through extended prayer and fasting, seeking to align ourselves with God’s will and to discern His calling for our next senior leader.

How can you help?

We invite you to continue lifting this process up in prayer as we discern the next steps. Your faithfulness in praying for wisdom, unity, and clarity is a meaningful support to the committee.

For those who would like to pray more specifically, April/May prayer prompts are available here.

We’re grateful to be on this journey together and appreciate your continued partnership in prayer as we seek God’s leading for Grace Chapel’s future.

Sincerely,

Victor Gerdes
Chair of the Elder Board
