Over the past few months, Grace Chapel - the congregation, the staff, and the Board of Elders - have been praying and seeking guidance on the next steps to launch a new search for our next Senior Pastor.
We’re grateful for the feedback we’ve received from the congregation and staff through the VitalChurch Ministries survey, as well as many in-person conversations regarding our last Senior Pastor Search process. The Board of Elders is prayerfully taking all of it into consideration as we evaluate how we can best move forward with a new search.
We are now at a stage of putting together the Search Committee for the Senior Pastor, per section 7.3 in our Church By-Laws. We are seeking nominations and volunteers from across our congregation who are able to represent a broad range of perspectives from our multi-generational, multi-ethnic, multisite church.
The ideal candidates will be highly engaged servant leaders who regularly attend services, actively volunteer, and give faithfully to the church. They must also be spiritually mature, willing and able to prayerfully and humbly set aside their own preferences and perspectives to listen well and consider the views of others when expressing their thoughts and making decisions.
Candidates must also be able and willing to make a significant time commitment to this team and the search process. Meetings and interviews are generally held in the evenings, with occasional weekend meetings, and are generally held over Zoom and in person in or around the Lexington area. During the height of the search process, there may be multiple evening meetings for interviews and to debrief candidates.
