Financial Update: November 2025
As we approach the holidays and the end of the calendar year, it’s a good time for an update on our finances. Kevin Johnson is one of Grace Chapel’s elders, also serving on our Finance Committee and as our Treasurer. Here’s a quick update we shared in our services on Nov. 23rd:
A few important things to highlight:
- We’re operating under a budget that was reduced by 3.0% from last year.
- Current giving is sustaining us through a time of reduced staff expense due to unfilled open positions (including the role of Senior Pastor), but overall giving is down by 1.2% from last year.
- And the funds coming in from the sale of our 3 Militia Drive office building are dedicated to capital expenditures and infrastructure, not operating expenses.
In conjunction with both “Thanks+Giving” Sunday on November 23 and Giving Tuesday, which is December 2, we’re inviting everyone in our congregation to prayerfully consider their current giving to the ministry of Grace Chapel and whether God is inviting them to give more or in new ways.
We’re encouraged by the generous and often sacrificial giving of so many who call Grace Chapel home. Yet we know that some of us are called to take a step of generosity in the coming year, or give a special above-and-beyond gift in 2025. Generosity is always an opportunity for joy, not just during the holidays!
If you’re not yet giving, or an occasional giver, now is the time to consider taking a step of generosity to support your church. You aren’t just giving to Grace Chapel; you’re giving through Grace Chapel – joining in the work of God in Greater Boston and beyond. Please know that every gift matters, and every act of serving makes a difference in the lives of people and the church!
