Pastor Tom has served as the Grace Chapel East Lexington Campus Pastor since 2016, having previously served at the Boston Chinese Evangelical Church Newton Campus for 15 years, and the BCEC Chinatown Campus for 15 years before that. Thomas is graduate of Tufts University, Trinity Divinity School, Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary, and most recently Talbot School of Theology.
Pastor Tom’s call to ministry was to “Share the love of Christ to all”. This have been clarified over the years, to “share the love of Christ and his kingdom in word and deed to all people”. Today this call manifests in now leading a Christ-Centered congregation that is multicultural, intergenerational, and missional.
Tom also serves on the local food pantry board (Arlington EATS) and helped start the Fellowship of Asian American Ministers and Ministries. He has served on the Gordon Conwell Boston Campus Advisory Board and the Boston Chinatown Coalition Board.
Tom and his high-school sweetheart, Edna, have been married since 1987. They have been blessed with 3 adult sons, two of whom are married. Edna worked as a Bank of Boston loan officer for 15 years, before sensing a call to more direct kingdom ministry. She has taught fourth grade in Bedford Public Schools since 2001. Edna and Tom enjoy lots of extended family time, hospitality, volleyball, and bike riding.
