Wayne Kendall

Support Pastor, Community Care

Office: (781) 862-8351 x 2228

Wayne was born in 1938 and lived his early life in Townsend and Leominster, Ma. After graduating high school in 1956, he spent six years in the Air Force, serving in the US, Greenland, and Labrador.  He was married to Dorothy with whom his two sons, Scott and Brian, were born in the early 1960's. He began serving churches as senior pastor in 1963 and continued until his retirement in 2005. He feels blessed to have served 15 churches in this capacity throughout Kentucky, Georgia, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. His academic degrees include a Bachelor of Arts degree, Bachelor of Divinity degree, Master of Divinity degree, and a Doctor of Ministry degree in the area of religion, personality, psychology, and counseling. In June of 2000, Wayne’s first wife died from a severe form of Leukemia. Since then, he has been remarried to Janice and been blessed with a stepdaughter, Kimberley, who is a professor at Virginia Wesleyan College. Wayne’s two sons continue to live locally and have honored him with three grandchildren, Vail Marie (a teacher of special needs children), Ryan (college graduate and married to Nicole), and Patrick (a senior in college). Recently (September 11, 2017) Ryan and Nicole presented Wayne with his first great grandchild, “Parker.” Jan and Wayne now reside in Townsend, Massachusetts.

After retirement Wayne and Jan began attending Grace Chapel where he offered volunteer services in his area of training. In his new role as “Support Pastor, Community Care,” he will continue to do counseling, pastoral care, and visitations, and be involved as a pastoral presence in the leadership of MAPS (Mature Adults Programs) at Grace Chapel.

Wayne’s objectives are “By the Grace of God to be true to the direction of the Holy Spirit under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.”
