The goal of this Season of Prayer is to dedicate a month of focused prayer to humble ourselves as a congregation and listen to God—to seek His will, especially during this time of transition and as we search for a new Senior Pastor.

Our vision is that this Season of Prayer will be the beginning of a broader cultural shift—making prayer central to all that we do across every ministry and generation at Grace Chapel.

Prayer: Talking and Listening to God in Everyday Life

Growing in the Practice of Prayer:

  1. Commit to creating space for prayer in the morning, midday, and evening.
  2. Identify the obstacles to your prayer life and choose one to work on this season
  3. Use a journal and take notes on your prayer life:
    • Who are you praying for?
    • What are you praying for?
    • What are you thankful for?
    • How has God answered, provided, ministered to you today? Describe what you feel including anxiety, courage, frustration, joy, mundaneness, and peace (among countless other feelings/responses)
  4. As you pray throughout this season, consider how you might pray differently than before. Perhaps you might focus on a needed area of prayer that you may have avoided or struggled with. Practice praying out loud or writing out your prayers in a journal.  To grow in our prayer lives, we’ll want to challenge and stretch ourselves beyond what we already have been doing.
