How will this virtual Kids Week work?
Once you register, you will receive an email with instructions for your at-home Kids Week. Kids Week will include a video each day that will be about 30-40 minutes in length and some activities and crafts to do each day with your kids.
When will the videos be available?
We will release each day’s video that morning during the week of July 27. After the week is over the 5 daily videos will be available for viewing for three more weeks.
Will there be a sample schedule?
Sure, we’ll be putting together a suggested schedule, but you’re in charge, so you can mix it up any way that works for your family.
What will I need for supplies?
In your follow-up email, there will be a list of standard supplies you probably have at home. In addition, we will be packing each family a Kids Week Kit with everything else you will need to have a fun week with your kids!
How do I get my Kids Week Kit?
We will share scheduled times at each campus for a drive-through pick-up during the week of July 20. If you're unable to make any of those times, check the box on your registration form for us to mail your kit to your home for a $10 shipping fee.
Will my SHINE child be able to participate?
You always serve creative snacks that go along with the theme, will you also provide our snacks?
No, we will not be sending food in your kits, but there will be a list of ideas for you to use for snacks. The theme this summer is FOCUS – Take a Closer Look at Jesus – so snack ideas will be yummy foods that are good for the eyes!
Do I have to do everything in a certain block of time?
Only if you want. You can spread the activities out all day long or you can set aside an hour or so to experience your Kids Week. Make your own schedule that fits your family! The content will be available all day throughout Kids Week. We'll keep the videos accessible for 3 weeks following Kids Week.
What about my preschoolers?
While Kids Week is usually an experience for our elementary-aged children, this year's activities can be enjoyed by your preschoolers as well. In addition, we will include a couple of special extras just for the preschoolers in your home, so be sure to let us know how many you have when you register!
Is there a Mission component this year?
YES! We will be participating in the #thisisgrace initiative and working with our ministry partners at the Boston Project, making cards for families, and donating needed supplies. More information will be available as we get closer to Kids Week.
Is there a music CD for purchased this year?
What about inviting a friend?
YES – Please do! If you have a neighbor or friend who would like to participate, please have them register as well. Maybe you can gather in your backyard with another family and do this together! Bring your masks and hand sanitizer and plan for some fun! If they write down your name for the referral, you can be entered into a raffle to win a fun prize!
What if we are away the week of July 26, can we still participate?
YES! Register and get your kit. You can either take your Kids Week on the road with you or plan to do it on your own time. We will keep the videos accessible for 3 weeks following Kids Week.
