“I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.” (Ephesians 3:16–19)

This past summer, I visited my aunt who is caring for her ailing husband. I was humbled by the quiet sacrifices she makes daily to help him heal and recover. As she lovingly prepared his meal, she told me, “My strength comes from the Lord—there is no sacrifice at all.” The next day, I saw another aunt selflessly caring for her sister out of deep family love.

Both of these moments reminded me that those who serve as caregivers often embody and shine Christ’s love in a very real way. Their strength is not their own—it flows from being rooted in Him. When life feels exhausting or unseen, caregivers can hold on to the truth that God’s Spirit strengthens their inner being, and that His love is wider, longer, higher, and deeper than we can imagine.

Prayer Prompt: Dear Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, thank You for caring for us so deeply that, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. We lift up our brothers and sisters who are caring for loved ones. Strengthen their hearts, refresh their spirits, and let them feel Your presence in their daily sacrifices. Surround them with Your peace, provision, and encouragement as they reflect Your love in their service. Amen.
