Please join the Senior Pastor Search Committee (SPSC) in prayer.
Give thanks
“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."
(1 Thessalonians 5:18, NIV)
- Give thanks for the time, dedication, and faithful work of our Elder Board, staff, and volunteers as they lead and serve our church during this season of transition.
- Give thanks for the growing movement of prayer, fasting, and Sabbath-keeping among our congregation, and for how the Holy Spirit is deepening our relationship with the Lord as we practice these disciplines.
- Give thanks for the new ministries and efforts emerging among us, and for the ways the Lord is using them to build His Church.
- Give thanks for the diverse gifts and perspectives represented on the search committee, and for each person’s generous willingness to serve with dedication and time.
Pray for the Grace Chapel Congregation, Leadership, Pastoral Staff, and Volunteers
- Pray that the Lord would form in us hearts of humility, gentleness, and patience, and grant us the grace to set aside our preferences, seek His will above our own, and pursue what is for the unity and greater good of the church.
- Pray that the Lord would encourage and sustain our leaders, teachers, staff, and volunteers, and grant them the strength, joy, and perseverance to continue serving faithfully with all their hearts.
- Pray that the Lord grants us the grace to release anything that separates us, so that we may move forward together as one church in love and purpose, ready receive the person God is bringing to lead His church.
- Pray that the Lord would continue to do a new and mighty work among us in this season of transition, and grant us the faith, courage, and readiness to step into the next chapter of our church that He has prepared.
Pray for our next Senior Pastor
- To move this person’s heart to seek something possibly different despite being out of their comfort zone.
- Pray that the Lord would create openness in the heart of our next Senior Pastor and their family to the work He is calling them to and grant them attentiveness to the Holy Spirit and a willingness to follow in obedience.
- Pray for the one God is calling to shepherd Grace, that their heart be tender to His Spirit and their mind anchored in His wisdom. May they lead with courage and faithfulness in the direction He desires, and may we have the grace to follow, even when His path is not our own.
- Pray for our next Senior Pastor and his/her family, that they would experience unity in their calling to Grace Chapel.
Pray for the SPSC
- Pray that the Lord would guide the SPSC clearly as they interview candidates, and grant them unity of mind and spirit, so that they may discern together the direction He is leading.
- Pray that the SPSC would be led by the Holy Spirit, moving neither ahead of God nor behind Him, but faithfully following His timing and direction.
- Pray that each committee member’s gifts will find perfect expression throughout the search process.
- Pray for a hedge of protection around each SPSC member and their family as they engage in this important work.
