“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’” (Isaiah 6:8)
At some point in life, people realize they need a mission. At various points, our mission may become misguided, or too self-centered or simply ineffective.
For the disciple of Jesus, our mission is to make disciples and reveal God’s Kingdom and to do that, we need to live on mission. We cannot be effective, detached from others, nor will our work be sustainable if we function merely with our own strength and capacities. Prayer actually becomes the fuel for mission. And being sent by God into the mission field of our lives is an essential piece of our daily calling.
“And I said, Here am I. Send me!”
Prayer Prompt: Lord, today send me headfirst into your Kingdom. Let me dive into your love that I might bless those I encounter with your goodness, kindness, and grace. Send me into opportunities that can bring glory to you, and help to those in need.
