“Your spiritual roots go deeply into his life as you are continually infused with strength, encouraged in every way. For you are established in the faith you have absorbed and enriched by your devotion to him!” (Colossians 2:7 TPT)
“Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.”(Colossians 2:7)
In this verse, we are invited into a deep relationship with Christ, where we are fixed in Him, immovable in our relationship with Him, and firm in the truth of His salvation. It is the depth of our daily relationship with Christ that propels us forward in faith and enables us to experience His deep love for us. We are challenged in this verse to let our roots grow down deep and to build our lives on Him.
We can experience truth and freedom in our lives by being deeply rooted in Christ and having our identity in Him. We become entwined with Jesus. We are nourished by our daily relationship with Christ. We can experience the love of Jesus daily through our interactions with him throughout the day. Today, invite Jesus into every area of your life and see how he meets you with his presence and wisdom.
As you reflect on being rooted in Christ, how is He challenging you today to go deeper in relationship with Him? Are there areas in your life where you hold back from Christ?
Prayer Prompt: Father God, thank you for propelling me deeper into your word, truth, and identity in Christ. Show me how to take my growth and my identity in Christ to the next level. Holy Spirit, fill me with wisdom, understanding, counsel, knowledge, power, and the fear & awe of the Lord. In Jesus Mighty Name.
