He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. And He is the head of the Body, the Church, he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything He might have the supremacy." (Colossians 1:17-18)

Jesus is all! Completely and totally! Before all things and holding all things together. Head of the Body, which is the Church. That’s church with a big “C”: His Church. The Church Jesus told Peter the gates of hell will not overcome (Matthew 16:18). Jesus is its Head. Isn’t that comforting? The One who holds everything together, the One who has the supremacy in all things—He is the One in charge of the Church. Including our church (small “c”), Grace Chapel. We can have hope for the future of Grace Chapel as we entrust it into the hands of the One who is the Head of the Body, the Church. The One who has overcome the grave (as the firstborn from the dead) and has conquered sin and death. Whom or what should we fear if we hold tightly to the truth that our lives, and the life of our church, is in His hands? No one and nothing, for He is in control. Let’s cling to Him, for He is able to do more than we could ever ask or imagine.

Prayer Prompt: Father God, thank you for the reminder that in Jesus we have all that we need because He is our Savior, Reconciler, Healer, Provider, Head, and LORD. Keep our eyes on you in faith and trust for ourselves and for Grace Chapel. Keep us ever mindful of the truth of the gospel, keep us firmly established on Your Word, and may our hope always be in You and not in our own strength, so that You may get all the glory in our lives and in our church….
