“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”(Colossians 2:6-7)

Raising children is both one of life’s greatest joys and one of its greatest responsibilities. My husband and I know this firsthand. After walking through the heartbreak of miscarriages, we had stopped hoping for more children. Then, to our surprise, God blessed us with twin boys—two healthy, energetic, and joy-filled gifts from Him.

Like all parents, we want them to flourish—not only in academics, sports, and music, but most importantly, in their walk with the Lord. The challenge is real: guiding them through choices, influences, and pressures while ensuring their roots go deep into Christ. But we are not alone in this calling. We are grateful for the many people God has placed in their lives—teachers, coaches, tutors, Kidstown leaders, and now Student Ministry leaders—each helping to shape their hearts and character.

When we pray for Kidstown, Student Ministry, and parents, we are praying for God to strengthen the very soil in which the next generation is being nurtured. Children and students are like young trees; they need healthy roots to withstand storms and to grow strong. Parents and ministry leaders are the gardeners who tend to them, water them, and guide them toward the Light of Christ.

As a church family, let’s pray that our children and students will be rooted deeply in Jesus—that their faith will not be shallow, but enduring. And let’s ask for strength, patience, and wisdom for every parent and leader entrusted with shaping them.

Prayer Prompt: Lord Jesus, thank You for the precious gift of children. We lift up Kidstown, Student Ministry, and all the parents raising the next generation. May our children’s roots grow deep in You, so they remain strong in faith through every challenge. Bless the leaders, teachers, and mentors who invest in them. Strengthen weary parents with wisdom, grace, and joy. Let our homes be filled with love and truth, and may our children shine as living testimonies of Your goodness. Root us all firmly in You, Lord. Amen.
