Jesus said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples…” (Matthew 28:18–19). Paul reminds us, “All Scripture is God-breathed… so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped” (2 Timothy 3:16–17).
Did you know God has already given you everything you need to represent Jesus well? You’re not sent out unprepared. You’re equipped with His Word, backed by His authority, and strengthened by His Spirit. Think of Jesus as the head coach of an American football team. He has ALL authority, knows the playbook perfectly, and has already secured the ultimate victory over sin, sorrow and death. But instead of playing every position himself, he sends us, as his players, you, the faithful onto the field. Each player wears the team uniform, carrying the coach’s name and representing him publicly. Their job isn’t to invent new plays or seek personal glory. Their role is to run the plays as the coach designed them, execute with joyful discipline. and to point back to the coach’s leadership whenever the team succeeds. That’s encouraging but fear and inadequacies can get in the way. Have you ever felt nervous about sharing your faith?
The good news is sharing Jesus doesn’t have to be complicated. It doesn’t look the same for everyone, and it’s not just for the professionals. Jesus shows us that the gospel can be shared in many ways, and every one of them can bring life. When Jesus shared the good news, He told parables that made people think. He asked questions that stirred hearts. He showed compassion that made the Kingdom of God visible. In the same way, God uses our unique circumstances. The important thing is not how we share, but that we embrace our calling to point people to the hope we’ve found in Him. Sometimes that looks like a simple invitation like asking a friend to come to church or to a place where the gospel will be heard clearly. Other times it looks like sharing your own story: who you were before Christ, what He’s done in your life, and who you are now. At times, our witness is through serving, being the hands and feet of Jesus, bringing help and hope where it’s needed most. And yes, sometimes we’re called to speak directly and lovingly: to urge someone to turn from sin and discover real life with God. Often our friendships prepare the soil of someone’s heart, so when the Spirit opens the door, they’re ready. Ask God to open one door for you to share Him: through serving, listening, inviting, or speaking, and step into it with faith. The gospel isn’t complicated. Be ready. Be present. Be bold. And let Jesus shine through you. Step onto the field, trust the playbook, and represent the Coach well.
Prayer Prompt: Father, help us live our days to the full, fully reflecting your will and your way. Jesus, help us to give ourselves away to others, being kind to everyone we meet. Spirit, help us to love the least and last and lost, and joyfully share Christ in all I do and say. Amen.
