“So Jesus said, “I speak to you eternal truth. The Son is unable to do anything from himself or through his own initiative. I only do the works that I see the Father doing, for the Son does the same works as his Father.” (John 5:19 TPT)

Being rooted in Christ is becoming like Him. Jesus daily followed His Heavenly Father’s initiative.  Even though Jesus was the Word who came and dwelt among us, he had daily time praying and seeking His Father’s heart. Daily He asked “What does this day hold, and how should I proceed?”  How much more do we need to do this very same thing?  Each day when we meditate on the word we are being transformed by the word of God as we read it and apply it to our lives.  Christ did nothing out of his own initiative. He only did the work that he saw his Father doing. So it should be with us, as we meditate and pray, let us seek the Father’s heart about what He is inviting us to be a part of, for His Kingdom’s sake.  Jesus laid out the example of how we are to live and operate as children of God.

Take time to sit and listen to what God might be saying about the day ahead. Bring Him things that you need wisdom on, wait for a response and journal what He might say to you.

Prayer Prompt: Heavenly Father, I earnestly seek your heart today to know your wisdom and plans over various situations in my life.  What do you want to show me? Thank you for revealing your heart to me.  In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.
