Opportunity Details

Audio and visual help wanted! Do you like to be "behind the scenes" and use technology to make events look amazing? We need you and your professional touch. No experience? No worries! We will train you.

Campus Tech's

For each service, we need at least 3-4 tech savvy people in the booth to help with sound, slides, videos, and lighting. We also need folks that can help out with these items in Kidstown, Student ministries, help set up and troubleshoot tech needs for small groups and classes.

We also need a few people who are available on each campus to help with weddings, funerals and special events that happen throughout the week. If you have flexibility and are willing to learn, we have a place for you!

Sound Engineers

Do you have experience in sound engineering? We are looking for folks to help enhance the sound quality at all of our locations, train sound techs and help with large scale events.

Multi-media and Pro-presenter pros!

From creating the slides, to making the video stream go off without a hitch. Ensuring the video and audio are sync'd up, and making a seamless worship experience without distraction. Help with enhancing the visual quality to our services and events.

Lighting Specialists

You can't say "Lights, Camera, Action" without the lights. In this vital role, you will help set the mood using and enhancing our lighting systems on all our campus'.

Camera Operator (LEX)

Our live stream that goes to all of our campus' originate out of our Lexington campus. It takes more than a few hands to make it all go off without a hitch. Help our tech team by operating a camera or switcher to ensure an engaging experience for our campus'.

Stage Hand

Pick things up, and put them down. Really, it's that simple! But it is SUPER important. During the course of our services and events, we often have changes that need to be made on the platform. Remember being on stage crew in high school? Yeah. That. Moving in and out of shadows, moving mics and stands to create seamless transitions, keeping the back of the house neat and organized.

Part-time & Per Diem Help

When putting on large scale events, such as hosting a conference at one of our campus', we often need some professional help! If you are a skilled AV Tech, reach out to learn more!

Worship Team Auditions: Details

Our contemporary worship teams are always seeking more musicians and vocalists to help connect our congregation to Jesus through corporate musical worship.

If you are considering an audition, here are your next steps:

  1. Pray about this opportunity! Prayer is a big part of the worship experience here at Grace Chapel.
  2. Set up an audition and interview with your campus worship leader using the form below. An audition helps assess your ability to play your instrument and/or your vocal ability. The interview is our chance to get to know you, your heart for ministry, and hear a bit of your experience in playing music.

  • Possess working knowledge of the guitar neck;
  • Control dynamics while maintaining consistent tempo;
  • Play different strumming patterns as called for by the given song;
  • Transpose chords and use a capo;
  • Comfortable learning parts by ear;
  • Ability to arpeggiate chords and flat-pick very desirable.
  • Electric Guitarist Skills:

  • Electric guitarists provide rhythmic support, texture, and specific parts (lead lines) for given songs
  • Ability to read contemporary chord charts;
  • Knowledge of major and minor chords and basic scales. Power Chords!
  • Ability to control dynamics while maintaining consistent tempo.
  • Should be comfortable learning parts by ear; ability to arpeggiate chords and flat-pick very desirable.
  • Electric guitarists must own their own guitar and equipment, and be able to produce tones and textures consistent with modern music. 
  • Instrument should be able to hold tune and be in good repair.
  • Drummer Skills:

  • Drummers and percussionists provide solid rhythmic foundation for the worship team. 
  • Ability to hold steady tempo
  • Must own their own sticks/mallets/brushes.
  • Comfortable learning parts by ear.
  • ability to play a variety of basic quarter note and eighth note rock drum patterns. Others; 2 beat country, 6/8 time signature beats, etc.
  • Ability to control dynamics while maintaining consistent tempo.
  • Bass Guitarist Skills:

  • Bassists provide bass content, rhythmic support, and specific parts when needed.
  • Ability to read contemporary chord charts;
  • Solid understanding of basic rhythmic divisions; quarter notes, eighth notes, triplets, etc.
  • Should be comfortable learning parts by ear and knowledge of basic scales would be useful.
  • Be able to control dynamics while maintaining consistent tempo.
  • Bassists must own their own instrument. Instrument should be able to hold tune and be in good repair.

    Keyboardist Skills:

  • Keys players provide sonic textures and keyboard parts for the worship team. 
  • Ability to read contemporary chord charts. Ability to read sheet music is a plus but not required;
  • Ability to hold steady time and play with energy;
  • Comfortable learning parts by ear;
  • Chord inversions and be able to find different chord voicing.
  • Familiarity with using keys for other sounds or show ability to learn; (ambient pads, electric piano, organ, etc)
  • Leadership Opportunities

  • Do you love students AND music? We are looking for Worship Leaders to work with High School and Middle School students to form worship teams for their times together. 
  • Do you love Kids and making music fun and exciting for kiddos? We are looking for folks to help out with our Kidstown worship at all campus'.
  • Play something else? (Violin, Cello, Mandolin, etc.)

    Choir (Lexington Campus)

    The Lexington Choir is looking for new members. Soprano, Alto, Tenor or Bass. We want your voice! The Choir performs 1-2 times per month. Rehearsals are on Wednesday nights. 

    Looking for the next step of leadership? We need section leaders to help coordinate smaller groups during rehearsals to work on specific sections.

    Are you a Conductor, looking for a place to use your talent for the Glory of God? We need conductors to help when our Classic Worship Director is unavailable or working with the orchestra.

    There are also opportunities for small vocal ensembles for special worship moments. Ask our Classic Worship Director for more information!

    Handbell Choir (Lexington Only)

    We are seeking more people to join the fun/worship with handbells and melody chimes.

    No Experience Necessary! We will show you everything as we play and learn together. Students and Adults with some musical experience are encouraged to join! 

    We meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:45 PM at the Lexington Campus. We will play at services on the Lexington campus, and occasionally travel to the Wilmington and Watertown campuses, as well as special events at assisted living or nursing homes.

    Behind the Scenes

    • Media Tech - We will train! We need techs at every rehearsal, service and special event. We'd love to have you join the team!
    • Librarian - Do you like to organize? We would love someone to keep all of our music organized and up to date. Help is needed both in person for sheet music in Lexington, and online using Planning Center.
    • Rehearsal Child Care - Some folks can't participate in rehearsals due to child care needs. If you have a heart for caring for kiddos, we would love to have you keep an eye on these kids while their parents rehearse
    • Worship Administrator - Help with communications, printing music and call sheets for our musicians
    • Stage Hand - Pick things up and put them down. Just like Stage Crew in High School, but at Church!
    • Producer - Do you like to make sure all the trains are running on time so an event goes off without a hitch? This job is for you!
    • Equipment Manager - Keep track of all the equipment, cables, etc. Make sure everything is put away and keep an inventory of what we have
    • Care Team - With a ministry as big as our worship team is, we need folks who will provide care, prayer and support to our team members. Send birthday cards, put together meal trains when someone is sick, Call and check up on folks who haven't come in a while. If you have a caring spirit, we would love your help!

    Stephen Ministry Training

    Stephen Ministers meet in person with our Grace Chapel congregants and walk with them through support and care. If you are interested in joining our Stephen Ministry, please fill out the form below. You must be a member of Grace Chapel or be willing to become a member. The new training will begin in the beginning of October and will consist of 50 hours (2 hours/week). An application and interview will be part of the process.

    Homebound Ministry

    Our Homebound volunteers meet with our congregants who are unable to leave their homes for various of reasons. They meet with our congregants in their homes and offer prayer, scripture, and companionship. A CORI is required. You must be a member of Grace Chapel or be willing to become a member. An interview and an informational meeting is required. Please fill out the form below if interested.

    Nursing Home Ministry

    Our Nursing Home Ministry attends several nursing homes to offer worship and a sermon. The volunteers offer care and support with a smile. You must be a member of Grace Chapel or be willing to become a member. An interview and an informational meeting is required. Please fill out the form below if interested.

    Prayer is an important foundation to our Christian faith.     There are several different opportunities to help facilitate group life. Click the titles below to see a brief description of what each role does, then fill out the form at the bottom of this page for the role that works best for you.

    Groups Coordinator

    Volunteer who works closely with staff in finding the best group fit for congregants. Do you love groups and want to help others find the best group for them? Be a group coordinator! You will help people find their fit in a group that best suits their interests, needs, and/or demographic.

    Group Leader

    This volunteer is someone who serves their group through the gifting of caring, facilitating, teaching, serving, or hosting. If you have a great experience in a group and are looking to go the next step - this role is for you!

    Group Hosts

    This volunteer opens their home to a Life Group and organizes snacks, desserts and meals. Do you love to open your home or organize meals? Making people feel welcome in a group usually involves an open and inviting environment. If you love to open your home, or help make a space welcome and inviting, this role is for you!

    Group Coach

    This volunteer works with the Campus Pastor to coach fellow Life Group Leaders. Are you a seasoned group leader and want to help other leaders? Facilitating can be difficult so if you are able to help them lead, this role is for you!

    Short-Term Group

    This volunteer helps to lead a short-term group. Rather than a group that meets for a long period of time, these groups focus on specific issues/books that usually begin and end in a couple months. If you are looking for a more temporary role - this is for you!

    Kidstown needs a wide range of volunteers, from small group leaders to check in team, to tech and large group leaders. There are so many ways to serve in Kidstown! Some of these roles work directly with engaging and building relationships with children and parents while other roles are a bit more behind the scenes.     Volunteer Roles

    Early Childhood

    Our Early Childhood is for kids birth-5 years old. If you love the littlest ones in our church, check out the roles we have below.

    Lead Teacher -Lead the bible story, crafts, and activities for 8-10 pre-k kids. 

    Assistant Teacher - Assists Lead teacher in activities for 8-10 pre-K kids.

    Substitute Leader - On call to fill in when weekly small group leaders call out.

    Volunteer Scheduler - Schedules all classrooms and volunteers.

    Coach - First face families see when they enter Kidstown. Take kids to their locations and oversee other leaders.

    Childcare Worker - Schedule and facilitate all childcare for events requiring childcare. 


    Elementary

    Our Elementary aged ministry goes from Kindergarten-5th grade. We have plenty of options to volunteer. Whether you love leading up front, leading kids in arts, crafts, and discussion, or doing tech behind the scenes; check out the roles we have below.

    Large Group Leader - Lead the whole group of kids through the morning bible teaching. 

    Small Group Leader Lead 2-10 kids in crafts, games, or activities that coincide with the weekly bible lesson. 

    Coach - First face families see when they enter Kidstown. Take kids to their locations and oversee other leaders. 

    Substitute Leader On call to fill in when weekly small group leaders call out. 

    Tech Team - As a member of this team, you will help with the technical aspect of our large group time. Making sure sound/visuals/computers are ready to go and working for our large group Team.

    Worship Team - A worship team member has a musical gifting and would work alongside the large group team to engage with children while leading singing and worshiping God dur

    Behind the Scenes

    Do you love kids but don't want to work directly with them? We have tons of roles that don't work with kids, but help them all the same.

    Bin Buddies Team - This team works behind the scenes to ensure all campuses and all classrooms have the supplies needed to effectively teach the Bible lessons each Sunday. If you like details, and have some weekday time available, this team is for you!

    Prelude Team -Help to design/ build our monthly sets and strike them each month. 

    Producer - Media team coordination, large group leader coordinator, builds Pro-Presenter presentations and manages all aspects of the Sunday morning production. 

    Care Team Connect with kids and parents that are having a difficult time. 

    Lay Security Team - Monitors entrances to KT. Greet families, and be trained in emergency protocol.  

    Greeting Team - First face families see when they enter kidstown. Lead new families to their respective areas, help them check-in, and be a happy presence for the families coming to Kidstown.

    SHINE

    Our SHINE Ministry serves children in Kidstown and Student Ministries at the Lexington campus aiming to provide the most appropriate setting for each child to learn and grow in their relationship with Jesus.  No special skills are required, just a heart for serving families and kids!

    SHINE Buddy  – Volunteers paired 1:1 with a child in SHINE to provide and assist in their safety and education at church.

    SHINE Coach - One coach serves during each service hour to coordinate and assist buddies serving children.

    SHINE Leader - provides support to more than one child in SHINE who can attend Kidstown without a buddy. 

    Mom2Mom Childcare (Thursday Mornings)

    Do you love kids and have a heart for giving moms of young children a break so they can fellowship with others in a bible study? We offer childcare for our Thursday morning Mom2Mom groups. If you have daytime availability, we are looking for volunteers to help supplement our childcare workers every week.

    Our Marketing Communications team is looking for willing and able volunteers with experience in marketing and marketing-adjacent functions like campaign strategy and planning, branding, copywriting, graphic design, photography, and social media. We're also looking for help with functions we'd be able to train someone to help with, like weekly updates to our app, GC Connect

    Photography

    Do you have a good eye for photography? Do you enjoy taking photos and sharing them? We are in need of volunteers at every campus to take photos of every event we have!     Social Media

    Scroll, scroll, scroll.... Stop! Help us stop the scroll on our social media feeds. Each campus, kidstown and student ministry have active social media accounts. If you are super active on social media and want to help monitor our feeds, respond to comments, post content, create content that engages an audience, etc. we need your help!

    Blog posts, social content, creative writing, and more! If you love to write, we need you!

    In search of all "eagle eyes"! Do you find yourself correcting people's grammar and punctuation, whether or not you were asked? You probably just corrected these last two sentences, didn't you? You found a better way of saying it, right? Clearly, we need you! Come join the team and help with copy editing! 

    Weekly App Updates

    Our app, Grace Chapel Connect, is used by thousands of people across all of our locations. Keeping it updated requires some basic technical skills, an eye for detail, and an understanding of design. It's not about app development or programming, it's about content formatting and publishing. If you're interested in helping with regular weekly or bi-weekly updates, let us know!

    Campus Communications Team

    Each campus is in need of volunteers to help get the word out about our events and services. There is a lot happening in the life of the church, and we need people to help promote it! Join your campus communication team to help with communicating and promoting events on your local campus!

    Marketing Leadership Team

    Are you a big picture thinker? Do you like to formulate a good strategy and see it through to execution? We need marketing thought leaders to help us on our marketing leadership team. We know you are in our congregation, and we would love to tap into your expertise!

    Small Groups (Middle and High School)

    Whether you consider yourself an introvert or extrovert, super knowledgeable about the bible or not, we are looking for people to love Jesus, love like Jesus, and point students to Jesus with the way they live their lives. As a small group leader, with training and support from your campus director, you’ll facilitate meaningful conversation using a discussion guide at weekly evening program.

    Small Group Leade- Meet weekly with a set small group of students inside and outside of weekly programming, facilitating conversation, and nurturing relationship. (All Campuses) 

    Behind the Scenes

    Do you want to volunteer with students but are more of a behind the scenes person? No worries - we have tons of spots that help support our ministry.

    Snack Team -Teenagers are always hungry! Snacks are a great way to create opportunities for our students to connect with each other over food. This person helps Coordinate and serve snacks in partnership with the local campus director. (All Campuses)

    Special Events Team Create opportunities for students to connect through fun and letting their guard down. Help plan and coordinate large group games and some fun events for students throughout the year, like a Christmas party or Nerf Night. (All Campuses)

    Worship Team - Create opportunities for students to connect to each other and to God through musical worship at our weekly programming. Invest in and mentor our student musicians. (Lexington campus)

    Tech Team - Support our band through sound mixing, lighting, and projection. And invest in and mentor our student tech team. (Lexington Campus)

    Welcome Team Help students feel seen and valued from the moment they enter our space. Greet students as they arrive, provide directions, and help new students get connected. (Lexington Campus)

    Volunteer in Student Ministy 

    Opportunity Details

    Do you love to serve with your local church? We have SO many opportunities to volunteer at each of our campus'. We are always looking for friendly faces on Sunday mornings and throughout the week!

    Not available on Sunday mornings, or more of a "behind the scenes person"? We have a place for you! You don't need to shake hands, rock babies, or be a talented singer to serve on a team (though we need people to do those things too!). There is so much more to do to make a difference in the life of the church!

    Welcome Team

  • Parking Team - Be the first face people see when they arrive on campus. Nothing is worse than getting to church with just enough time to spare, and not being able to find a place to park. Help people find their way to a place to park so they can get inside and ready for services or events. 
  • Greeters  - Can you smile? Can you wave? Can you say "hello"? Then you are qualified and pre-trained to be a greeter on any one of our campus'.
  • Welcome Center - Do you have the gift of hospitality and love to make people feel at home? We have the job for you! Being new at a church like Grace Chapel can be overwhelming! We need hospital volunteers to hand out welcome packs, ask them to fill out the connection card, and show them around. 
  • Info Center - There is a lot going on in the life of the church, and people have questions! We will give you access to the info, you just need to point them in the right direction. 
  • Ushers - Now that they are in the door, checked their kids into kidstown, and have made their way to the worship center, where do they sit! Help them find their way, ask people to squeeze in to the center to make room (everyone seems to want an aisle seat), and help pass the plate.
  • Sunday Morning Team

  • Communion Team -  Who do you think fills all those little cups? Our Communion team! Help us put together communion on communion week before services
  • Offering Team - Where does that money go once it is put in the plate? Help us keep those valuable donations secure and accounted for.
  • ASL/ESOL Interpretation - Do you have skills in ASL or another language? Help those who may need interpretation for our in-person services.
  • Service Production Coordinator - If you love logistics and making sure we think through all the details and keep the trains running on time, this is the job for you! 
  • Coffee/Hospitality Team - Mmmmm... coffee... Each campus has a team of folks that help make coffee and put out snacks for folks while they socialize before/after worship every Sunday.
  • Cafe (Lex only) - Ever wonder what it is like to work at a real cafe? Our Lexington Crossroad's cafe is always looking for volunteers to help behind the counter!
  • Worship & Tech

  • Instrumentalists - Play an instrument? We'd love to have you join one of our worship bands or the orchestra in Lexington
  • Vocalists - Join the fun and use your vocal gifts on one of our worship teams or the choir in Lexington
  • Tech Team - Do you have sound, lighting, or multi-media experience? Or, are you interested and willing to learn? Join the Tech team.
  • Event Production Coordinator - There are more than just Sunday morning services happening on our campus'. If you have the availability to help make sure all the logistics are worked out for special events and services, let us know!
  • Worship Support - Everyone has different gifts and abilities. Sometimes the gift of administration is not the strongest suit for our worship and tech folks. If you have a passion to helping with organization, communication, and making sure everyone has the info and tools they need to perform their role with excellence, join the Worship Support team!
  • Next Gen Ministry

  • Kidstown - From Birth - 5th grade, volunteers are needed in kidstown!
  • Student Ministry - Some people DO want to go back to Middle School or High School. If that's you or you just really care about helping Student's navigate life, join the Stu Min team!
  • SHINE - Do you have a passion to serve those with special needs so that parents can take a much needed break and go to worship? Sign up to be a SHINE buddy.
  • Group Life

  • Small Group Leader - Whether your are a master facilitator or someone who is willing to be trained, we are always looking for folks who are willing to lead a small group
  • Special Interest Groups - Is there a special group of people that you feel called to? Whether it's young adults, parents of teens, or retirees, we would love to have groups on every campus that represent our diverse community.
  • Small Group Coach/coordinator - Are you a small group veteran who wants to help other leaders thrive?  Become a coach!
  • Short Term Group Leader - Is there a specific topic you would like to lead a short term group to study? Let us know!
  • Women's ministry - Women's groups meet in LEX on Tuesdays in the morning and Evening, and on other days/times throughout the week on our other campus'. We always need help with planning, scheduling, coordinating, registering, and group/table leaders. Join us to get in on the fun!
  • Prayer Team

    If God is not with us, we are not going anywhere! Please join us in prayer. If you would like to be a part of the prayer team on your campus to pray over specific requests and over all of our ministries, please let us know on the form below.

    Care Team

    Caring for each other within the body of Christ. If you have a heart for caring for others going through a difficult season, we would love to have you join one of our care teams. Whether it is providing meals, visiting those in nursing homes or are unable to come to church, or helping someone going through financial concerns, a recent death or divorce, we have a place for you.

    Behind the Scenes

    • Administrative Support - So many needs, so little time. A perfect way to serve if you have the gifts of administration, project management, or just like to "make it happen"
    • Organization/Inventory - You would be shocked at the number of closets there are in a church! If you like to make sure everything has a place and there is a place for everything, we would love your help.
    • Data Entry - The details are in the data, but there is a lot of data to manage. This is an easy task that can be done from home!
    • Shopping for events - Do you have a BJ's or Costco card? Do you love a bargain? We'll give you a list, you go shopping, we reimburse you!
    • Facilities/Helping Hands - Setting up and breaking down events, helping with light maintenance tasks, reporting larger issues to our central facilities team to address
    • Rental "Hosts" - Open up the building, give directions and answer questions about the facility, lock up when the event is done
    • IT Support - We need IT guru's to help when things don't seem to be working the way they should. Or, help our central team with installations of equipment, be a second set of eyes when they are not able to be there themselves.

    Opportunity Details

    Our Digital Ministry Team is looking for volunteers to help with various areas to support the video productions for our online service and video content development to be used at our services.

    Video Editor

    In this role, you can help our Digital team edit videos for long and short format stories as well as our weekly online sermon. This role can be performed remotely.

    Teleprompter

    In this role, you can help out during our sermon recordings by operating the teleprompter. Sermon recordings typically happen on Thursday mornings. 

    Camera Operator

    In this role, you will operate a camera for our live service stream from our Lexington Campus or when our digital ministry needs to set up a multi-cam video shoot. Video shoots happen during the day and occasionally in the evenings and weekends.

    Videographer

    In this role, you will shoot videos and take photos at events at your local campus. You can then provide those pictures and videos to our digital ministry team to use for our digital content. Volunteers are needed for every event on every campus at various times throughout the week!

    Set Designer

    Do you have an eye for how things should look visually? We are looking for volunteers to help design and set up sets for our sermon and digital video shoots. 

    Online Campus Host

    In this role, you will act as a "host" for our online campus, by greeting and responding to comments during the streaming of our online services.
