Preparing For What We Can't See

The prophets longed for the coming Messiah and prepared the people for Him as best they could. Their message carried hope even when the world seemed hopeless. The prophets prepared at a cost: the sacrifice of their own ideas about what the Messiah should do or be. They lived with the burden of preaching what they might not see in their lifetime. Their longings weren’t fulfilled on this earth—but God did what he promised. We prepare for Jesus by making room in our hearts for God to show us something new, or different.
