Join Grace Chapel at Camp of the Woods
Every year, friends and families from Grace Chapel escape to upstate New York for a week of relaxation, fun, worship, and community in the woods and lakes of the Adirondacks. Grace Chapel has welcomed men, women, and families of all ages and stages to Camp of the Woods every summer for more than 20 years. Camp of the Woods is a resort on Lake Pleasant in Speculator, New York, about a 4½-hour drive from the Boston area. This Adirondack oasis offers Christian community, breathtaking beauty, and accommodations ranging from resort-style to simple and affordable. Each week includes morning chapel with visiting speakers, an outstanding college and graduate-student music program, a full children’s program Monday through Friday, and youth programming in the mornings and on several evenings.
Grace Chapel attenders receive a 15% discount on most rates, while first-time campers receive 25% off. We also set aside intentional time together as a church family: a 30-minute GC Gathering Time each weekday morning with worship, a Kidstown-led Scripture skit, a short devotional from a Grace Chapel staff member, and time to connect. Several evenings include campfires with singing and s’mores, and a student ministry staff member plans Grace Chapel student and family competitions and activities throughout the week.
So much! Activities include canoeing, hiking, sailboats, tubing, paddle boarding, kayaks, jet skis, tennis, pickleball, basketball, volleyball, mini golf, and ceramics and crafts. Kids’ Klub and childcare for all ages are available in the mornings, with evening childcare for children ages 8 and under. COTW staff may also be hired as babysitters; sign up at the Main Desk. The cost is $10 per hour for up to two children.
Additional optional expenses include food and ice cream at the TeePee snack shop, items from the gift shop, and gratuities for staff. Suggested gratuities are $4 per person per day for waitstaff and $2 per person per day for housekeeping.
Yes. We do not want finances to prevent anyone from attending COTW. Complete the confidential scholarship application below. Grace Chapel has a scholarship fund, and COTW may also have scholarships available near the end of May. We will work with you to help make camp possible.
