Joseph: Preparing a Heart to Serve

Joseph received news that he did not enjoy—news he wasn’t even sure he believed. But like Mary, Joseph had been prepared for this moment long before he knew it was happening. God prepares us for roles and tasks we haven’t yet seen. Joseph prepares by allowing God to change his mind, by changing his plans, by sacrificing the life he thought would be best. This process takes time.
