Warren Humphrey

Warren and his wife Deborah are members of Grace Chapel and have been attending regularly since 1997. Warren grew up in a mainstream Protestant home and attended Sunday School when it wasn’t inconvenient. Warren and Deborah married and he joined the Air Force after graduating from Tufts University. They spent the next 20 years traveling with tours of duty in Utah, Virginia, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, and two tours in Germany. Warren also became a devout atheist during this time. After retiring from the AF, Warren and Deborah moved to Southern California. It was in California that Warren encountered God (“I was found by those who did not seek me.” Is 65:2), heard the Gospel message for the first time (“He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” Mk 4:9), and was born again (“No one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.” Jn 3:3).
Warren and Deborah arrived at Grace Chapel in 1997, and when the Alpha course started a year later, they volunteered to be table leaders in the first Alpha classes. They also joined a Life Community and after several years began leading the group. During this time Warren teamed up with Mitch Foreman, who was returning to Grace from his work with Jews for Jesus. Mitch taught and Warren assisted for two years on the Jewish roots of Christianity Adult Discipleship courses. Warren joined the Discipleship Ministry Team in 2008 and began to teach Bible study classes at that time.
