Getting Involved

The Orchestra is made up of volunteer musicians that play at the 9:15AM service the 2nd and 3rd Sunday of each month from September to June.  The schedule for the orchestra is as follows:

Rehearsal Thursday evenings: 7:00PM - 9:30PM

Sunday Morning: Run through begins at 8:30AM, play at 9:15AM

Music will be available the Wednesday before performance. Musicians are expected to come to rehearsal having read through the music to understand the roadmap of the piece and to begin to address any difficult passages in the piece. 

Requirements:  We cover a large amount of music each week that ranges in difficulty from easy to difficult with syncopated rhythms. Sight reading ability is a must. It is our experience that musicians opt out if they can't handle the music or pace, therefore, we do not require an audition.

Our orchestra welcomes members of all ages who can independently demonstrate a mature commitment to our schedule and our ministry goals. 

Currently, the Grace Chapel Orchestra is especially in need of musicians to serve in the following creative capacities:

• Cello
• Clarinet
• French Horn
• Pitched Percussion - timpani, chimes, etc.
• String Bass
• Trombone
• Trumpet
• Viola
