What is A New Day of Grace?
A New Day of Grace is a three-year capital campaign launched on Sunday, May 23, 2010. This campaign has three major goals: to bring new vitality to our ministry efforts, to begin launching new campuses, and to form new partnerships with other Christ-centered organizations. We are committed to Going Deeper, Getting Closer and Reaching Wider in our faith walk with Jesus Christ.
What will A New Day of Grace accomplish?
A New Day of Grace will:
- Refurbish the sanctuary in Lexington to increase seating capacity, incorporate safety, accessibility and technology improvements, and create a playground space for families to enjoy.
- Reduce Grace Chapel’s debt to release additional funds for ministry.
- Launch a second campus in Wilmington, Massachusetts, right off I-93 and near I-95/Route 128 at the site of the former Casa di Fior banquet facility.
- Strengthen our existing partnerships with local, regional and international churches and other Christian organizations, and establish new ones. We plan to deepen our partnerships with The Hope for the Children of Haiti, Moldova Educational Building Construction Fund, and Straight Ahead Ministries in Lynn, Massachusetts – and forge new partnerships. We know that we are not called to build the Kingdom alone, but rather to work with other believers locally and throughout the world to spread the Good News of the gospel.
Why did Grace Chapel open a new campus in Wilmington, Massachusetts?
Our original Lexington location has been constrained by real estate, parking and other considerations from expanding significantly to accommodate our growing congregation. After a great deal of prayerful consideration by our elders, staff, and congregation, we've adopted a model used very successfully by other evangelical Christian churches across the country: establish other campuses of Grace Chapel in the greater Boston area. Our first such location is in Wilmington, Massachusetts. Launched in May 2011, with over 200 Grace Chapel members from our Lexington campus who committed to move to, and support our new campus in Wilmington, the campus has grown to welcome over 400 people each Sunday. While the Wilmington campus has its own campus pastor, Tom VanAntwerp, and other local ministry functions, such as a welcome team, middle school and high school youth ministries, and Kidstown, it shares the same message each week as the Lexington campus (via simulcast video) and is a part of Grace Chapel rather than a separate church.
Is it too late to become a part of A New Day of Grace?
Absolutely not! We welcome your participation at any time throughout the three-year campaign. Simply download the pledge card and send it in or contact Tom Herrmann, Pastor of Ministry Support, at (781) 862-6499 extension 119. We are eager to have more people join in the exciting work of A New Day of GRACE.
How has the response been to A New Day of Grace?
We are blessed! To date we have received nearly 950 pledges for over $9 million over the three-year campaign. This has been during one of the most difficult economies in decades. But we are still short of our original goal. Therefore, we invite you to prayerfully consider becoming a part of what the Lord is doing through A New Day of GRACE.
