Getting Involved
The Worship Bands include Grace Chapel’s acoustic and electric guitar, drum, bass, piano, and keyboard players. They serve (minimum) two Sundays per month at the services which best suit their musical strengths: classic (9:15AM), contemporary (11AM), acoustic (Courtyard - 9:15AM & 11AM) or edgy (GC@Nite - 6PM). Some musicians play at multiple services. The band for the Classic service rehearses Thursday evenings, the Contemporary and Courtyard bands rehearse Sunday mornings, and the GC@Nite band rehearses Sunday afternoons. All band musicians go through a brief audition with one of the worship leaders. Reading of charts is helpful.
The commitment is as follows:
Classic Service
Rehearsal Thursday evening: 7:00PM - 9:30PM.
Sunday Morning: Run through begins at 8:30AM, play at 9:15AM
Contemporary Service
Rehearsal Sunday morning: 9AM - 10:30AM
Play at 11AM
Courtyard Services
Rehearsal Sunday morning: 8AM - 9AM
Play at 9:15AM and 11AM
GC@Nite Service
Rehearsal Sunday afternoon: 3:30PM - 5:30PM
Play at 6PM
Music will be available the Wednesday prior to performance. Musicians are expected to come to rehearsal having listened to and read through the music to understand the roadmap of the piece and to begin to address any difficult passages in the piece.
Requirements: You must be able to read a chart for contemporary services. An audition is required.
Our Bands welcome members or regular attenders of all ages who can independently demonstrate a mature commitment to our schedule and our ministry goals.
