Adopt a Missionary

Some of our LIFE Communities have committed to connecting with and praying for one of Grace Chapel's missions partners. Members of your group might take turns writing to the partner(s) with notes of encouragement. If they are available during Global Awareness Week, the partners will already feel warmly welcomed by your group.
Angel Tree

Angel Tree Prison Fellowship is an international Christian ministry that strives to reconcile the relationship between child and incarcerated parent. Join Grace's 25-year partnership by giving your time or gifts to this organization.
First, there is a standing need for financial and logistical help to send Angel Tree kids to Christian Camps this summer. God has moved in kids' lives when they go away to Christian Camps. If you are interested, contact Lisa Gerdes at lgerdes@gmail.com.
Second, we are already looking forward to next Christmas! We need firm commitments from LIFE Communities who are willing to reach out to Angel Tree families in your neighborhoods with Christmas Gifts. If interested, contact Shari Johnson at Sharikdb87@me.com.

Hagar's Sisters ministers to women who are victims of domestic abuse, approaching their pain from a Christian perspective. For mor information contact Joyce Holt at info@HagarsSisters.org or visit www.hagarssisters.org.

Nepal Ministries
1. Sponsor a child of a prisoner for higher education through Foresight Development International. Foresight Development International is a non-profit organization which grew out of Grace Chapel’s work with Prison Fellowship Nepal. Foresight provides higher education or vocational training for older children who have been rescued from being in an adult prison with a parent, have grown up in a Prison Fellowship home, and have "graduated" from the home after completing 10th grade. Because they lack any family support, Foresight provides educational and vocational guidance, and necessary scholarship money through its White Rhododendron Scholarship fund. Through this fund, these young adults can access further education and training as a way out of the cycle of poverty. There are currently 14 young adults under Foresight guidance. Nine are in need of partial sponsorship to continue their education. Click here to access descriptions and photos of the students along with the funds needed. Email contact with the sponsored student is encouraged.
2. Fund one-time dental care for the 14 Foresight students. Dental care in Nepal is uncommon because most people can’t afford it. Some of these children had their last and only checkup 10 years ago, at a dental clinic sponsored by Grace Chapel. The cost would be approximately $65 per student.
3. Provide a rain jacket and umbrella for each of the 14 students. The heavy monsoon rains in Nepal often keep students away from school because they get soaked while walking to class. Breathable, waterproof jackets and umbrellas would be greatly appreciated by these youngsters. These jackets are available from L.L. Bean for $79 each.
