The Worship Arts Ministry (WAM) at Grace Chapel is dedicated to using the arts to help people find and foster relational intimacy with Jesus Christ. We use all forms of artistic expression to create a journey that will:

• Enlighten the mind - by communicating God’s truth in a fresh way.
• Engage the emotions - to get people personally involved.
• Challenge the will - to encourage people to visualize and make a change.

General Information

How important is Volunteerism in the Worship Arts Ministry?

1. Every non-leader position in the Worship Arts Ministry at Grace Chapel is a volunteer.   Every musician, singer, dancer, actor, videographer, visual artist, painter, and technician is a volunteer. That brings us to our second point...

2. The WAM provides Artists “for the people”, not people “for the Artist”. We are looking for people who want to use their gifts to glorify God and to bless others, not those who are looking for an audience.

3.  Because excellence honors God, Volunteers in the Worship Arts Ministry must:

   • Possess Talent - we will always use the most talented people we can.

   • Produce Quality Art – we will always produce the best quality art we can.

   • Be Available – we will use people who are reliable and take time to prepare. 

   • Be walking toward Jesus – authenticity.

   • Committed to the Mission, Vision and Values of Grace Chapel and the WAM - be a team player.  

Style

We are looking for Musicians and Vocalists that are talented and proficient in the areas of music we do here at Grace. You could be a prodigy on the piano, but only have strength in playing polkas. We obviously would be looking for more of a classical style for our traditional service and more of a pop/rock/R&B background for our contemporary services. 

Excellence

We are looking for the most experienced and the most talented people we can find. 

In this season at Grace, people expect things to be done with excellence. This requires that we communicate artistic elements with the same excellence with which the spoken word is delivered. We do have some different opportunities that require different levels of experience. This will be determined at the time of your audition for those positions requiring auditions.

Walk

One’s walk with Christ and progress are very important in serving on the platform. Anyone can audition. But as mentioned earlier, you can only be invited to join a performing arts team if you are committed to the vision and mission of Grace.  We desire that all of our team members are working toward membership at Grace.

Commitment

Before you audition or get involved, please be aware of the time commitments involved with the Worship Arts. There are rehearsal times during the week, as well as rehearsal before services and the actual services themselves.
