About Brian
Brian Dietz has served as the Pastor of Middle School Ministry since the summer of 2002. Brian’s passion and joy is to work with the youth and specifically he oversees the 6th, 7th and 8th graders at Grace Chapel. From teaching the large group on Sunday morning of over 100 students to working through tough theological and life issues with students individually, Brian delights in building relationships and sharing God’s Word with middle school kids. He is also thrilled to train and develop the amazing volunteers who offer their time and energy out of love for kids. And the key to it all is partnering with parents and developing the whole family structure so that students are supported in their faith at home as well as in the church.
Prior to taking on his current role, Brian was an intern in Family Ministry at Grace Chapel while studying at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Brian grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and attended Grove City College just north of the city. He was a music major with a trumpet concentration, but always had a plan to go to seminary. Having been heavily involved with Young Life in high school and college Brian knew that his heart for ministry was strong and his desire to learn more about God’s Word drove him all the way to Boston. Brian loved his time at Gordon-Conwell and graduated in 2003 with his Master of Divinity.
Brian's greatest joy in ministry is partnering with his wife Heather who he met when she came on as a volunteer. They were married in August of 2004 and enjoyed having many students participate in their ceremony. In September of 2006 they expanded their ministry team with the birth of their daughter Abigail Elizabeth. Abby has been an instant hit with all the students and she loves them just as much. The Dietz family is thrilled to serve in the middle school ministry!
