There are 1.3 million orphans in India, many as a result of the AIDS crisis. A large number of these orphans are sold into slavery for only $12.00 per child. For some orphans,  limbs are amputated to make them more efficient beggars.

Winterlude 2008 is collecting money to build an orphanage, with a church on the first floor, to give some of these children an opportunity for a healthy and whole life - and an opportunity to know of the love of Jesus.
