“From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live.” – Acts 17:26

God has been moving his people from the very inception of the New Testament church to accomplish His expressed purpose of “making disciples of all nations.” He doesn’t move His people randomly, but strategically. It is not an accident that Paul and Barnabus were commissioned from the church in Antioch, a vibrant and growing church composed of people from many different cultural backgrounds. And not only was the congregation diverse, the leadership team was as well – from Niger inWest Africa, and Cyrene in North Africa; from Cyprus in the middle of the Mediterranean and Tarsus in Asia Minor; even possibly from Samaria!

God is moving his people again, and is now bringing the “ends of the earth” to our neighborhoods, schools, workplaces and churches. Technology has opened up possibilities for global connections and relationships never before available to us. It is now time to join together with the people whom God has brought to us from all around the world - to see each other, to get to know and understand one another, to learn
from each other - and in so doing, become a people that can more effectively reach this world for Christ. Becoming a multicultural church at Grace Chapel is not just for our own enrichment, it is an obedient response to Jesus’ call for unity in John 17:

“My prayer is not for [the disciples] alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us that the world may believe that you have sent me.”

As we join together in pursuit of your kingdom, Lord, may the world that surrounds us see in our unity something for which they desperately long, and as result, be drawn to know You in a deeper, more intimate, and ultimately transformational way.
